A happy belated New Year to all. With a little help from my friends at think/feel, the Reel Health website is now live! Reel Health was a project I led in which a team of filmmakers and NGO partners trained medical students in Tanzania how to tell stories about their country’s severe doctor shortage using cell phone video cameras. The project was life changing; the website was picked up by the news feeds of UN Global Pulse, Sony Ericsson Innovations, and MobileActive.org.
And it goes to show you: you don’t need a film crew or a fancy camera to tell a good story. You need a good story (and maybe access to broadband, mobile or otherwise) to tell a good story. Also check out my Flickr album to see photos from the project: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mlabrams/sets/72157624119259185/
